Anastasia Surya

Anastasia Surya is a student at Barnard College of Columbia University, where she is pursuing a double major in Political Science and Economics on the pre-law track. During her time at Barnard, she has been an active member of Columbia University Democrats, canvassing and phone banking during election cycles to expand civic engagement and voter participation. She has cultivated a strong commitment to public service, with particular dedication to advancing civil rights and supporting communities impacted by systemic inequality. Her interest in justice and democratic accountability has been shaped by her academic work and research, including her role as a CUVotes Research Fellow, where she published an article examining free speech infringements and media dynamics in the United States.
