Iris Yu

Iris Yu is a freshman currently studying International Relations at UC San Diego. She aspires to become a journalist who tackles international conflicts and brings local issues to the attention of the wider world. Iris has contributed to multiple projects exploring incarceration and the justice system, and she is honored to collaborate with the WITNESS newsletter team in their mission to support formerly incarcerated individuals and reduce recidivism. Deeply committed to elevating underrepresented voices, she is especially passionate about sharing the stories of women and people of color. Outside of her academic work, Iris enjoys hanging out with friends, drawing, and catching up on rest.
