Kaitlin Carmona
Kaitlin Carmona is a rising junior at UC Santa Barbara majoring in History of Public Policy and Law. She has experience in legal advocacy, development, and research, with a focus on supporting marginalized communities and advancing equity. At Asian Americans Advancing Justice Southern California, Kaitlin contributed to policy-driven development and advocacy efforts, where she engaged in forensic accounting, donor research, and data analysis to strengthen initiatives that protect civil rights and expand access to justice for underserved populations. She also worked on campaigns focused on civic engagement and community empowerment, helping to build sustainable support for AAPI communities and other communities of color.
Beyond her policy and advocacy work, Kaitlin serves as Director of Media for Sigma Kappa Chi, where she leads storytelling and outreach strategies to foster inclusivity and connection. Outside the classroom, Kaitlin enjoys working out, cafe hopping, and taking pictures. She is committed to pursuing a career at the intersection of law, policy, and social justice, with the goal of dismantling systemic inequities and amplifying the voices of those most impacted by mass incarceration and oppression.
