Skye Ostreicher

Skye Ostreicher - known in New York civic circles as “The Political Personality” - is the founder of In The Room Media, a storytelling agency that humanizes public policy by centering the people most impacted by it. Skye’s work focuses on building trust between government and communities through narrative change, relationship-building, and media that makes civic life more accessible, accountable, and human.

With over a decade of experience across government affairs and political media, Skye served as a regional director for the Mike Bloomberg 2020 presidential campaign and created the Political Personalities with Skye video series during the COVID-19 pandemic. She went on to launch video verticals for local New York media outlets including Herald Community Newspapers, Schneps Media, and City & State, conducting hundreds of human-interest interviews with elected officials and civic leaders. Her candid, disarming style creates space for real conversation, connecting policy decisions to real-world stakes and elevating the voices too often left out of the process.

Skye is also the founder and creator of Style Across the Aisle®, a first-of-its-kind civic engagement fashion show where government officials model runway looks by local designers from their districts. The 2025 show partnered with WITNESS as its nonprofit beneficiary, featuring custom looks designed by Art of Tailoring students for Council Member Julie Won, Queens Borough President Donovan Richards, and New York State’s first formerly incarcerated elected official, Assembly Member Eddie Gibbs.

Raised on Long Island, Skye holds a dual Master’s in Public Health and Public Policy from Stony Brook University and studied chemistry at the University of Miami on a full academic scholarship. She believes storytelling helps people see beyond labels by highlighting the strengths, passions, and lived experiences that shape our communities.
