Xin Tian

Xin is a first-year graduate student at the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education majoring in intercultural communication. She is interested in digital social media content creation and telling people’s inspiring life stories. During her graduate study, she became interested in social factors that influence language use, and the context in which language is used also affects the language of communication. Xin wants to explore how power is enacted through language in the non-neutral and unequal reality in the context of how authority and identity are socially and discursively constructed. In her spare time, she enjoys listening to music and spending time with friends.
